Your small-group tour kicks off downtown on historic Queen Street before weaving through back lanes to an early fortress. Along the way you'll hear about Auckland's Maori heritage, European colonization and New Zealand culture today. You'll discover the city's award-winning art gallery, top food spots, central park, street art, sculptures, popular cafes and designer boutiques. Enjoy a refreshment break at an elegant hotel (as this tour includes an indulgence or two) and a chocolate tasting. A short ride uptown on the locals' bus reveals a vibrant arty neighborhood. You'll wander through a grand arcade down into a bird-filled valley which descends to Queen St by the Auckland Town Hall. Here your guide will bid you “Haere Ra” or farewell, leaving you armed with loads of local advice.
"A perfect 101 experience to jump-start your Auckland visit" said James, USA (guest).
Combine your morning tour with the option of a 2-course set lunch up Sky Tower's Orbit, the Southern Hemisphere's highest rotating restaurant. Enjoy delicious NZ-style cuisine with views stretching 50 miles on a clear Auckland day! Or choose to enjoy mouth-watering fish and chips or a grilled fish salad at a heritage food lane.
